Puregold Price Club, Inc., commonly known to market-goers as Puregold is one of the biggest supermarket chains in the Cordillera Administrative Region. The said supermarket chains partnered with their workers for the establishment of their workplace cooperation and partnership mechanisms. Among its four (4) branches, three (3) had already formed their Labor-Management Cooperation (LMC) and GM Grievance Machinery (GM) committees. The 4th one is still in the process.
September was a busy month for both the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch- Cordillera Administrative Region (RCMB-CAR) and the three (3) branches of Puregold Price Club, Inc. Consultations and coaching through plant visits, telephone calls, text, and email messages were used by the parties in making this outcome possible.
As a result, the LMC and GM of Puregold Price Club, Inc. -Bakakeng also known as Puregold Bakakeng Jr was established on September 16. Puregold, La Trinidad also formed their mechanisms the following day, September 17. Meanwhile, that of Puregold-Baguio City was created on September 28.
Aside from the technical personnel who worked up and down despite the pandemic, RCMB-CAR Director Lourdes P. Estioco, and Ms. Julie Ann Esteban, Human Resource Manager of Puregold – Manila also played a very important role in this development. Their telephone conversation paved way for the RCMB-CAR people to meet face to face with the three (3) HR Supervisors: Misses Raven Symone D. Cruz of La Trinidad, Grace B. Cacdac of Bakakeng, and Noriza S. Marrero of Baguio City.
Director Estioco noted the positive action made by the management of Puregold Price Club Inc. and said that “its gesture is a manifestation of their existing company core values of commitment, dynamism, integrity, and loyalty that they want to instill to their employees.” The HR officers also said that setting up these mechanisms is to intensify the sense of belonging, a feeling that every employee has an essential role to play as part of the Puregold family.
Puregold Baguio was the first supermarket in the region. It was operationalized in 2009, followed by Puregold La Trinidad in 2012 and Puregold Bakakeng – Jr in 2014. Ms. Richelle C. Paragas, Misters Julius Buslay, and Joefrey Bangtowan head these stores, respectively.
