Dap-ayan ti John Hay (Dap-ayan), once again proved they’re being a Hall of Fame Awardee for Outstanding LMC for Industrial Peace even during the pandemic. The Hotel was closed for almost two months and its operations have slowed down, yet their Labor Management Cooperation (LMC) continued to be active.
Exactly one year when the country was placed under community quarantine, the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Board-Cordillera Administrative Region (RCMB-CAR) monitored the status of the different LMCs in the Region. While most LMC activities were controlled due to safety protocols, Dap-ayan continued to move on by using any possible platform to implement their LMC activities.
Ms. Wilna M. Boao, HR Director mentioned that in April of 2020, Php166,000.00 was released from their LMC fund to help the 166 agency employees who were displaced. She also shared that the Dap-ayan created the LMC Cares program, where Php5,000.00 were loaned to the workers who opted to open small businesses. “COVID-19 seminars and health education were conducted as well as various blood donation activities were organized,” she added.
Further, she said that “the monthly festivities like mother’s day, father’s day, Valentine’s day dinner, and Halloween events were celebrated in a manner that everyone could participate without violating any safety policy. The regular Christmas party was however cancelled, but replaced by virtual Christmas activities like several photo contests, talent competition, and the live raffle draw. Cash prizes were awarded to the lucky winners.”
Ms. Boao also stated that to continue helping their co-employees who were on forced leave due to the pandemic, the “Bayanihan sa Barrio” was arranged. This was in line with the Hotel’s theme: Bayanihan at Pagtutulongan. The concerned employees were allowed to sell their products within the hotel’s ground for additional income during the holiday season. She informed this branch that all their LMC events were posted via the hotel’s Facebook page.
Dap-ayan ti John hay is the name of the LMC of The Manor at Camp John Hay.
