To advance the stature of the women in the society and to ensure the safety and harmony of workers in the workplace, RCMB-CAR conducted its first learning session on women empowerment and convergence on March 26, 2019 at the Hotel Supreme, Magsaysay Avenue, Baguio City.
The event with the theme “Inculcating Harmony and Equality in a Safe Working Environment,” invited one hundred sixty eight (168) attendees representing employers and workers in the Cordillera Administrative Region.
In her message, RCMB-CAR Dir. Brenda Rose C. Odsey challenged the women participants to unwrap and share their potentials and skills in the society. Also, encouraged both employer and worker representatives to work safely and harmoniously in their respective organizations by following the instructions of the Department of Labor and Employment.
The speakers were composed of Dr. Rolando Mamaat, Jr. who spoke conscientiously on the empowerment of women, Sr. LEO Rajan Gomuad and LEO III Patrick Rillorta of DOLE-CAR who talked on the compliance with Occupational Safety Standards and updates on the family welfare program including the salient features of current labor laws and other related legislations and issuances in advancing the rights and promoting the welfare of Filipino women in the private sector, respectively. Meanwhile Board Secretary Augusto Aquillo expounded on wages and incentives.
