“I want the relationship of NCMB to grow. I want your performance to grow as well that is why we are conducting this activity nationwide”, NCMB Executive Director Shirley M. Pascual said during the opening of the Team Enhancement Exercises.
RCMBs CAR, I, and II converged on August 2, 2017 at the Pangil Beach Resort, Currimao, Ilocos Norte to intensify awareness of the group on gender and development towards team excellence.
According to Atty. Angelito B.Eder, Dean of the College of Law and Center for Gender and Development of the University of the Northern Phils., performance is frequently affected by discrimination against women in the political and public life of the country. In other words, there is gender inequality. The notion that men are superior to women is often the source of this problem. Likewise, inequality is rooted in the shared cultural beliefs about respect, social esteem, and honor. This is clearly manifested in the few number of women in the labor sector.
Several laws were promulgated in response to this problem. However, it keeps resurfacing despite the extensive promotion of gender equality. A forceful reason for the speaker to challenge the participants in promoting gender and development unceasingly despite the persistence of gender inequality. “Let us be included and be reintegrated to rebuild our relationships because everything happens for a reason and we are all instruments and responsible for forming that reason”, he said.
Representatives from RBs VI-A, X, XII, XIII and Central Office were also present during the event.
