Ronald Sibayan, a kitchen staff of Zola Resto appeared at the RCMB-CAR office on March 14, 2016 to seek assistance relative to the alleged non-payment of “back pay” from his employer.

Mr. Sibayan worked as a kitchen staff at the café bar for more than 2 years. He voluntarily resigned from his work effective August 12, 2015 to venture into a better employment.

It has been the practice of the establishment to provide employees who go out from the service a financial assistance called “back pay”. It is usually given after 3 months. However, the back pay of complainant was not released after 6 months despite his regular follow-up on the matter. Hence, he filed this request for assistance (RFA).

SEADO Maggie B. Balagtey who handled the RFA, immediately called Ms. Rowena Orzado, management representative and discussed with her the concerns of the requesting party. As a result, Ms. Orzado assured the SEADO that his claims will be released within 4 days.

True to her words, Ms. Orzado released the back pay of Mr. Sibayan amounting to Php 6,900.00 on March 18, 2016.
