Mr. Gil Datayan, Jr., Information Officer and Wendy M. Salada, Administrative Officer of ECC-Baguio, witnessed NCMB-CAR Regional Director Lourdes P. Estioco sign the MOA on February 27, 2015 after ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis signed the same MOA at Makati City in an earlier date.

Both parties agree to strengthen social dialogues as a forum to massively disseminate the program and services of NCMB and ECC to covered employers and employees. NCMB, which conducts regular seminars and training to its clients, assures a time slot for ECC to promote its programs and services.

Attached to DOLE, ECC is mandated by law to provide meaningful and appropriate compensation to workers who suffer from work-connected sickness or injury resulting to disability. These benefits are in addition to the Philhealth or SSS benefits.

Through the Single Entry Approach Program, the NCMB can further assist ECC in the implementation of its programs and services by informing or submitting the names of non-compliant employers for assessment and intervention of the Commission. Cresencia M. Pawingi, LIO-CAR
