Officers of the Cordillera Association of Labor Management Cooperation and Advocates of Voluntary Association (CALMACAVAR) were given the opportunity to be acquainted with the safety and health programs and practices of  SN Aboitiz Power-Benguet (SNAPBI).

Mr. Fernan Tongco, AVP/Plant Manager of SNAPBI and his OSH Officers welcomed the group on July 23, 2019.  They cooperatively shared their approaches in providing their company a safety and healthy working environment such as transport safety, support hazards identification and assessment of risks, conducts safety talks and safety checks, and effective permit to work system for safe execution of work, to name a few.   Mr. Tongco said, “One of our objectives is to share to other organizations the importance of safety in the workplace, because this will bring about productivity.”

SN Aboitiz Power-Benguet  was a Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan (GKK) awardee of the Department of Labor and Employment.  It was also recognized as  hall of famer in the 2018 Corporate Safety and Health Excellence Awards during the 14th Energy Safety and Health Conference of the Department of Energy.

This company is a joint venture of SN Power of Norway and Aboitiz Power. It owns and operates the Ambuklao and Binga Hydro Plants in Benguet that produce renewable energy.
