To appreciate and better understand the different actions and gender-based coping mechanism relative to COVID-19 responses, the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Board –Cordillera Administrative Region (RCMB-CAR) organized an in-house training entitled Impact of COVID-19 on Gender Equality. The seminar was held on September 23, 2020 at the RCMB-CAR conference room.
The learning session described and highlighted the different realities that the men and women of the NCMB-CAR are experiencing and could be facing in light of this issue. It provided ideas how our policymakers reacted on this problem, to ensure that gender perspective is not forgotten when it comes to making important decisions during and after the pandemic that are affecting the lives every individual.
Included in the discussion were a comprehensive presentation on how other countries deal with this crisis, as well as the different engagements done by the Philippine government in response to the present situation. Dr. Rolando M. Mamaat, Jr., the speaker also recommended some fresh and doable courses of action to address gender equality and the COVID-19 response.
As a professional psychologist, he said, “As frontline workers, do not operate in fear, instead, keep your immune system high by keeping yourself strong and healthy. Also, increase your vibrations by saying “thank you” for the work, strength and health you have.’
In conclusion, the speaker shared, “We HEAL as one. Hoping Everyone Appreciates Life.”
