The RCMB-CAR joined the 34th anniversary of the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) on January 4, 2022 with the theme: “Sama-samang naglilingkod sa bayan, upang ang mga pagsubok ay mapagtagumpayan.”

This virtual celebration was led by Executive Director Maria Teresita D. Lacsamana-Cancio.  In her anniversary message, she challenged every member of the NCMB family to render the best services to its clientele. “Let’s celebrate our 34 fruitful years with our people, past and present, the young and vibrant and the not so young but who continue to shine. Together as one, let us conquer the obstacles and render excellent service to our clients at all times,” she said.

DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III also graced the occasion. He expressed his appreciation for the good deeds of the NCMB in the promotion of industrial peace,  as well as for the uninterrupted public service despite the challenges caused by the pandemic.  “This is a happy and very relevant celebration. 34 long years of fixing the problems between the employers and the workers to maintain industrial peace, NCMB is indeed worthy of commendation,” he said.

To make the occasion more meaningful, video documentation on the NCMB’s accomplishments and programs and services on Conciliation-Mediation, Labor-Management Cooperation, Grievance Machinery, and Voluntary Arbitration was highlighted.

Another highlight of the anniversary celebration was the blessing of the refurbished Gallery of NCMB’s Executive Directors located at the lobby of the Office of the Executive Director.  Awards were also accorded to loyalty awardees who rendered 10, 15, 25, and 30 years in the service, winners in the NCMB Theme Writing Contest, and the first NCMB Praise Awards.  The new set of officers of the Conciliator-Mediators of the Philippines (COMPHIL) also took the opportunity to take their oath of office before the Executive Director.

Other guests who witnessed the celebration were the first NCMB Administrator and former DOLE Secretary Atty. Bienvenido E. Laguesma, former NCMB Executive Director and current OWWA Administrator Atty. Hans Leo J. Cacdac, former NCMB Executive Director Atty. Romeo A. Young, former DOLE Undersecretary, and Incumbent PAVA President Atty. Josephus B. Jimenez, the President of Maritime Voluntary Arbitrators Association Inc. Atty. Arnel Dolendo.
