Winners of the 2021 Regional Search for Outstanding Labor Management Cooperation (LMC) received their plaque of recognition during the simple ceremony organized by the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Board -CAR on August 17, 2021.
Awardees were SN Aboitiz Power, Benguet, Inc. (SNAPBI), and Camp John Hay Leisure, Inc. (The Manor at Camp John Hay, The Forest Lodge, and CAP). Both are under the unorganized category and represent the small and medium enterprises, respectively.
This Search for Outstanding LMC intends to recognize companies with labor-management committees/councils or other similar mechanisms at the workplace level. The search looks for LMCs that serve as valuable mediums of communication, information sharing, collaboration, employee involvement, and joint problem-solving.
This year’s Search is a special edition in recognition of LMCs that have remained focused and true to the program despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Regional Screening Committee (RSC) headed by RCMB-CAR Director Lourdes P. Estioco met at the RCMB-CAR Office on August 10, 2021.The committee evaluated and selected the winning entries based on the operational features of their LMC, strategic partnership, and corporate viability.
SNAPBI is a power generation and distribution industry. Assistant Vice President and Plant Manager of SNAP – Benguet, Mr. Hollis Fernandez, mentioned in his acceptance message that they give importance to their workforce during the pandemic and even when there is no pandemic. “We prioritize our workforce physically and mentally. Currently, safety protocols are strictly observed and safety materials and equipment are provided. We support mental health as we continue to improve our mental health programs. We ensure that our employees are doing their works happily and healthily,” he said.
Meanwhile, CJH Leisure, Inc. (The Manor and Camp John Hay, Forest Lodge, and CAP) is an accommodation and food services company. It is one of the severely affected industries in the region during the enhanced community quarantine period. Upon the lifting of the ECQ, CJH Leisure Inc. moved on. “Sa ganitong sitwasyon, lalo naming naipakita ang aming pagmamahal sa aming mga empleyado. Ginawa naming tulungan sila sa abot ng aming makakaya. Ang aming Dap-ayan ti John Hay ay naging instrument upang lalong tumatag ang aming pagsasama. Together we stand, move, and continue our journey to recovery”, Ms. Wilna M. Baoa, HR Director and LMC Steering Committee Chairperson- Management said.
