With their eyes set on the upcoming 2023 Search for Outstanding LMC, SN Aboitiz Power Benguet, Inc. (SNAPBI) visited the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch-Cordillera Administrative Region (RCMB-CAR) on April 20, 2022, for a consultation to gain a better understanding on how to package and document their LMC programs and activities.
Personnel from the hydropower plant, a finalist in the recently concluded Search of Outstanding LMC and GM, visited the Branch to solicit how to better the company’s current workplace relations activities. They are led by no less than Assistant Vice President and Plant Manager, Hollis Fernandez.
Ms. Rosalyn F. White, Plant Support Services Senior Manager, pledged into reviewing the organization’s documentation after admitting it to be done hastily to beat the deadline. She said that some of the LMC activities were not presented exhaustively to be more appreciated by the board of judges. This has come after the company receive a special award for the 2nd time on Corporate Viability.
In answer to the question on how to improve the chances of coveting the elusive Most Outstanding LMC for Industrial Peace award, Director Lourdes P. Estioco said, ” the role of LMC in each program as well as employee engagement is vital. Why not set aside a day to discuss and come up with an LMC action plan for the whole year. The activities to be undertaken should generate participation from both labor and management.”
Mr. Fernandez also expressed his earnest gratitude to the Board for the honor SNAPBI had received. “Receiving a Corporate Viability national award means the company is doing well in its partnership, not just with the host communities, but the whole province as well. More so that this is our second time to receive this award,” he said. He then challenged both the Kaibigan Committee’s labor and management representatives to be more innovative with their programs and projects. He also encouraged the committee members to come up with undertakings that add value to what the company already offers. A strategic planning exercise with the assistance of RCMB-CAR was then scheduled in May this year.
SN Aboitiz Benguet, Inc.’s Labor-Management Cooperation, the Kaibigan Committee started joining the Seach for Outstanding LMC for Industrial Peace in 2015. Aside from being a regular finalist, they collected a special award citation for Corporate Viability in 2017 and 2021.
