Four (4) establishments in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) were proclaimed by the Regional Screening Committee (RSC) as regional winners in the 2015 Search for Outstanding Labor Management Cooperation (LMC) for Industrial Peace on June 25, 2015.

Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) and Hydroelectric Corporation (Hedcor) were proclaimed regional winners for the unionized category while The Manor at Camp John Hay and SN Aboitiz Power-Benguet, Inc. (SNAPBI) were proclaimed regional winners for the non-unionized category.

The RSC team led by RCMB-CAR Dir. Lourdes P. Estioco said that these 4 companies have innovative practices in the field of human relations and business which sustain the companies’ global competitiveness.

Hedcor Inc., a consecutive Outstanding LMC winner in 2011 and 2013 now vies for the Hall of Fame.

BENECO and the Manor at camp John Hay which also won the Outstanding LMC Award for Industrial Peace in 2011, failed to bag the award in 2013. Both though were recognized with special awards on Productive Organizational Structure and Unique Strategic Partnership, respectively.

“We are now ready to reclaim our seat,” Mr. Zandro Medrano of The Manor said.

BENECO too, while quiet on its quest for the Outstanding LMC, documented and presented its LMC activities clearly and concisely.

The RSC is chaired by RCMB-CAR Dir. Lourdes P. Estioco. The members of the RSC are Mr. Judor Ulpindo of PHILAMCOP, Ms. D. Adela Dario, as RCC representative, Board Secretary Augusto L. Aquillo of RTWPB, Atty. Majellyn O. Simon of PMAP and Mr. Esteban S. Pomeg-as as TIPC representative.

The 2015 Regional Search for Outstanding LMC was formally launched at Baguio Country Club, Baguio City on March 24, 2015. It aims to recognize companies with labor-management committees/councils or other similar mechanisms at the workplace level. The Search seeks for LMCs that serve as valuable channels for communication, employee involvement, information-sharing, consultation, collaboration and joint problem solving. These mechanisms contribute in increasing the company’s efficiency, productivity and competitiveness. Maggie B. Balagtey-CAR
