The Department’s 83rdAnniversaryon December 8, 2016 at the NEAP Hall, Teachers’ Camp, Baguio City was celebrated not just for its employees, but social partners as well. It served as an avenue for the Agency to give back and honor those that helped in the promotion of its program and advocacies.

An alarming increase of various health concerns prompted the officials and employees to incorporate fun walk and Zumba in the festivities.  These morning exercises were then followed by a Thanksgiving Mass.  The highlight of the day’s event was the talent showdown taggedas the “DOLE RCC Got Talent”.  Thirteen vied for the title but the duo job contracts from the Regional Office took home the bacon.

To acknowledge those who helped in the realization of achieving the Region’s targets, valuable partners were honored.  The Rotary Club of Baguio Summer Capital and JCI Baguio Sunflower Jaycees for their Child Labor Program, Public Employment Service Unit of Baguio City and San Juan, Abra for being a finalist and champion, respectively, to the 2016 National PESO Search.

The National Reintegration Center for OFWs took advantage of the event and also awarded Teaching kits to their Sa Pinas, Ikaw and Ma’am/Sir (SPIMS) program beneficiaries. Also, OWWA showed appreciation to the Philippine Information Agency for being an active program partner.  To conclude the awarding ceremonies, Dr. Emerito Narag, DOLE-TSSD Chief, was given credit for his 25 years ofvaluable service in the department.

Fun games were participated in by most personnel of DOLE and attached agencies. Their smiles, giggles, laughter and cheers guarantee that all are looking forward to a prosperous 84th.
