The frontliners of Pines City Doctors’ Hospital (PCDH) were finally given their first plant level orientation on September 8, 9, 10, 2021. Said event was organized to coach and strengthen their workplace cooperation and partnership mechanisms.
Topics on Labor Management Cooperation (LMC) and Grievance Machinery (GM) and Voluntary Arbitration (VA) were expounded by Supervising LEO Maggie B. Balagtey. She stressed the importance and benefits of collaboration and partnership in the organization. Balagtey also encouraged the PELU to implement the programs as provided for in their CBA, specifically Articles XX and XXI on Labor Management Relations Committee and Grievance Machinery and Voluntary Arbitration, respectively. Further, the union officers headed by the Board of Director Chairperson Dyna Mae L. Pedling alternately explained the other provisions of the CBA to their members. Other BODs present were Wilbel Christine F. Mina and Rosielyn Garcia. Jeffrey Sia, resigned union president continued to serve as the consultant of the association.
In order not to disrupt the operations of the Hospital and to ensure that the Inter-agency Task Force (AITF) protocols and guidelines are observed, the event was held at the hospital’s auditorium. It was also scheduled for three (3) days and arranged in six (6) batches. A total of eighty five (85) workers attended the said learning session. The union officers thanked the Branch for a very enlightening discussion about the Board’s programs.
As Publilius Syrus said, “It is better to learn late than never.” This occasion was earlier scheduled in March last year but was postponed due to the pandemic.
